We held our second choir practice session of the new year on Tuesday 14 January 2025. The Hall was opened at 7.00pm so that the chairs and equipment could be set up with arriving members able to socialise, ready for a prompt start at 7.30pm. At this weeks session we started practicing for our Easter and summer concerts. We sang Look To The Day, Look At The World, Close Every Door, A Million Dreams and Hallelujah. The session finished at 9.15pm. We welcomed Anna for her first rehearsal of the year and also a new member, who joined the Alto's.

Please Note: We have a link to the sheet music publishers version of A Million Dreams, that we use and have purchased.

Our Christmas Concert was held on Saturday 7 December 2024. There were 22 items on the programme including solos, poems and full choir pieces, All with a Christmas theme. We were particularly pleased to perform The Snow by Elgar, the first time we have attempted the piece. We were honoured to have two young violinists who came along on the night of the concert to do the violin line. They were brilliant and really brought the piece to life.

The choir joined the Harvest Festival Service at Easton Maudit Church on 29 September 2024 and performed four pieces as well as singing the usual harvest hymns with the congregation.

Our Summer Charity Concert was held on Saturday 20 July 2024 raising £672.00 for The Brain Tumour Charity. There were 20 items on the programme including solos, poems and full choir pieces. A good time was had by all.

A section of the choir attended a service at Easton Maudit Church, to help with the hymn singing on 30 June 2024.

The choir were invited to the 'Summer Songs Of Praise' at The Little Chapel Bozeat held on Friday evening 21st June, where we sang three choir pieces and also joined in with their chosen hymns

We sang Adiemus, The Lord is my Shepherd, Look at The World, A Flower Remembered, a solo by Paul-The Honeysuckle and the Bindweed and back to the choir with Try To Remember. Ellie sang The Second Minuet, followed by the choir singing Home Is A Special Kind Of Feeling. We held our winter social evening at The Swan, in Olney on Saturday 13 January 2024. We had a lovely meal in very pleasant surroundings. Many thanks to Lindsey for organising the event and to Paul for sorting out the finances. A special thank you to the staff at the Swan for looking after us so well, they were efficient and very helpful. Click on the link to see what's available.

Our Concert A Lot Like Christmas, held on 16 December in the Saint Mary's Church Community Hall, was a wonderful end to the year. The new term started on Tuesday 9 January on Allens Hill.

On the evening of Wednesday 13 December 2023 the choir gave a short carol concert for the Gateway Group at the Hope Methodist Church in Higham Ferrers. It was a very enjoyable evening with an enthusiastic audience.

The last choir practice before term end on Tuesday 27 March 2023 marked the 30th Birthday Celebration of the choir. The Hall was open from 6.15pm, so that the chairs and equipment could be set up ready for a 7.30pm start. We had contacted as many of the former choir members as possible and invited those that were willing, to join in and sing with the choir again, or just sit and listen. There were 64 singers, with a further dozen or so people in the audience listening. We started the session by singing Trade Winds, The Lord Is My Shepherd (Vicar of Dibley tune), The Lord Bless You And Keep You, followed by Thank You For The Music, The Rhythm Of Life and Hallelujah. We concluded the singing with the medley from Les Miserables, finishing at 8.35pm. We spent the rest of the evening enjoying a party, with nibbles and drinks.
